Welcome Message

Welcome to the 9th conference of the Pacific Rim Society for Fertility and Sterility. The Pacific Rim region is the most densely populated and rapidly developing place in the world. However, most of the countries in this area are either facing or anticipating a decline in birth rate and working conditions. Thus, the development of reproductive medicine in Pacific Rim countries is essential to human welfare there.

In addition, it is very important for the Asia-Pacific area’s leading experts in these fields to meet and exchange ideas, in order to support not only scientific and technological development but also the harmonized advancement of mankind. Thus, the ultimate purpose of this conference is progress in clinical reproduction as well as the promotion of a fellowship of clinicians and scientists active in the field of reproductive healthcare in the Pacific Rim area.

In this year’s conference, we especially focused on 1) ovarian follicle growth, 2) primary ovarian insufficiency, 3) PCOS, 4) ART and aging, 5) oocytes and embryos, 6) fertility preservation, 7) epigenetics, and 8) stem cell. International authorities for individual topics have invited to give us a speech.

We welcome free communication papers (poster session) from within Japan and abroad.

We hope that this meeting will contribute to the international exchange of knowledge and benefit the young researchers and clinicians in the Pacific Rim Society area and worldwide. We hope that those of you who have come a long way to attend will enjoy not only the quality of science, but also the dazzling beauty of autumn in Japan.
